Kyzen

Kyzen is one of four English blends introduced in October 2013 by IMP USA Inc., based in Burnt Prairie, Illinois. The company changed hands in 2015, and since the new owner didn't take over the tobacco line, remaining stock was consumed at pipe shows; it isn't in production today.

In the blend, Latakia and Perique sit on one side, balanced by Burley and Oriental tobaccos on the other; the result is a smoke that sits squarely in the medium band among English blends — full but not excessive. Latakia's smoky, woody taste is cut by Perique's peppery fruitiness, and Burley adds a dry body. It suits smokers accustomed to smoky English blends who don't prefer heavy Latakia bombs.
