Coopvaert

Coopvaert is a pipe tobacco built on an old recipe tied to the classic Dutch "baai" tradition. The product comes from the tobacco line known in the Netherlands under the Douwe Egberts name; this line is today under the London-based Imperial Tobacco Group umbrella, with production continuing in the Netherlands. The blend uses natural Virginia along with Java and Maryland leaves, with American Burley added to slow the burn.

Because the tobacco is presented in fine ribbons in an air-permeable pouch, it feels dry; despite this it smokes cool. The taste shows a light sweetness alongside a spicy, cigar-like earthiness. It's suited to smoking in wide-bowled pipes; it's aimed at those looking for an unflavored, plain, traditional Dutch-style blend.
