Plum Cake Mixture

Plum Cake Mixture is a ribbon-cut blend from J. F. Germain & Son's lightly aromatic line. Per the maker's description, six separate Virginia grades are combined with black Cavendish, and the mixture is flavored with a wine-and-spice recipe said to be eighty years old. It takes its name from the spiced fruit cake of English cuisine.

The flavoring is noticeable, but not heavy enough to mask the Virginia's sweetness; the Cavendish establishes a soft, full base. Nicotine is on the light side. It's aimed at smokers who avoid heavily syrupy aromatics and want a measured, spiced-fruity flavoring.
