Luxury Flake/Classic Flake

John Aylesbury Classic Flake is an unflavored Virginia flake known under two names, since one side of its tin reads "Classic" and the other "Luxury." The leaf is pressed in the navy-cut style, processed to bring out Virginia's natural sweetness; the blend is produced in Denmark. The John Aylesbury name doesn't belong to a single person but to a group of German tobacconists united under a joint brand.

On the smoke it gives a citrusy, herbal sweetness that deepens into a breadier line further into the bowl. Strength is below medium and the smoke is cool and even. A good option for smokers used to preparing flake, seeking unflavored Virginia, and wanting a tobacco suited to cellaring.
