Tobacco Beans Special Blend is a record left over from the years when Maine-based L.L. Bean sold pipes and tobacco in its catalog. Per the recipe on the box, the medium-cut blend consists of nine measures of white Burley and three measures of flavored Burley; it contains no other tobacco type.

Given its Burley-forward makeup, the smoke carries a dry, low-sugar, slow-burning character, with a low tendency to bite the tongue. Nicotine and flavor intensity are moderate, making it a plain American blend suited to smoking all day. Since the brand stopped selling tobacco, the product is no longer in production and appears only in collector tins today.
