Buttered Rum is one of Lane Limited's bulk, coarse-cut aromatics. Its base is cut cavendish and burley leaf; some recipes note Virginia is also added. The applied casing is built around buttered rum and vanilla; the smoke starts with a sweet, buttery entry, with rum and a light almond side coming forward past the middle of the bowl.
It's a light-to-medium-nicotine, open and single-note blend; suited to those not seeking complex development but wanting a sweet aromatic to smoke all day. Lane is among the most widespread manufacturers of bulk aromatic tobacco in the US market and has been under the Scandinavian Tobacco Group since 2011.
