Edgeworth Jr. was reportedly launched around 1936 by Larus & Brother Company. Its target audience was explicitly stated in its marketing: pipe smokers who were also accustomed to cigarettes. Accordingly, the blend was built as a Burley-forward, low-intensity structure calibrated to sit close to light cigarette taste.
Body is light, smoke is dry and soft; rather than heavy flavoring, the leaf's own nutty taste comes forward. When the company's Richmond production ended in 1974, the line's smaller arms were also withdrawn from the market. Today it's a historical record found only in old tins, showing how the period's pipe market competed with cigarette habits.
