Cooper

Cooper is a classic English mixture made by Cornell & Diehl for the Low Country Pipe and Cigar shop in Little River, South Carolina. Light and red Virginia leaves form the body; Cyprus latakia, Basma and Izmir orientals are added on top, along with a small amount of perique. It's presented in a broken-flake-looking cut, ready to be rubbed by hand.

In the smoke, Virginia's sweetness forms a measured base beneath the orientals' spicy, tangy, musty tones and latakia's pine, camphor and wood-smoke notes. It's medium to full-bodied, with a lightly bitter, smoky character at the finish. Suited to smokers looking for an English mixture where latakia balances rather than dominates, and who are open to oriental spice.
