Pee Dee

Pee Dee is a mixture made by Cornell & Diehl for Low Country Pipe & Cigar in Little River, South Carolina, and is the brand's first burley-based blend. It contains heirloom dark and white burley varieties, matured red and light Virginia, and some St. James Parish perique; the leaf has a semi-rubbed texture with pressed pieces alongside loose ones, and it's ready to smoke straight from the tin.

The tin note carries a dark cocoa and bitter-chocolate-like tone. In the smoke, burley's earthy, coarse tastes come first, followed by Virginia's malty, baked-bread sweetness, then perique's dark fruit and spice notes. Body and nicotine sit in the medium to medium-full range; suited to those seeking an unflavored, dark, chocolate-toned burley blend.
