Amsterdamer

Amsterdamer is Mac Baren's pipe tobacco line prepared in the Dutch style. Per the manufacturer's description, the backbone of the blend is Virginia leaves from two continents plus dark fired Kentucky; the loose-cut (fijne snede) presentation eases packing. Though the series name references the Dutch tradition, it's produced in Denmark.

Virginia's natural sugar and dark fired Kentucky's smoky, salty-earthy line can be considered the blend's two main axes. It carries no heavy top flavor; the taste comes from the leaves' own character. It sits in the medium band for nicotine. Suited to those seeking an unflavored or very lightly flavored everyday blend with a smoky side.
