HH Mature Virginia

HH Mature Virginia is, per the manufacturer, a Virginia-centered blend bringing together twenty-two separate leaves. Fifteen of these are Virginias matured through years of storage: light golden leaf, ripe red leaf, dark Virginia and black Virginia cavendish are blended together. A small amount of oriental is added to support flavor, and a small proportion of pressed burley rounds out the body. The product is presented as a ribbon cut.

On the first light, Virginia sweetness leads, then the heavier, riper tone of the dark Virginias takes over. The ribbon cut burns slowly and evenly, leaving light-colored ash. Made for those seeking unflavored Virginia character and a blend suited to cellaring in the tin; its thick, sturdy packaging is well suited to long-term storage. Since the tobacco can arrive moist from the tin, airing it before packing eases the smoke.
