HH Old Dark Fired

HH Old Dark Fired is an unflavored flake combining selected Virginias with fire-cured dark Kentucky burley. The leaves are tightly pressed under heat and steam to mature, then sliced. Casing is minimized and no top flavor is used.

Opening the tin releases an earthy, smoky, leather-toned scent; the cooked-fruit sweetness of the Virginias is followed by the cocoa-like depth of the dark Kentucky. In the smoke, the smoky, tangy Kentucky character carries the blend, with Virginia sweetness softening this weight; toward the finish, the burley's body becomes more pronounced. Nicotine is high and it offers a filling smoke, so it suits pipe smokers already acquainted with strong, smoky leaf more than newcomers. It packs easily and burns evenly.
