HH Old Dark Fired Plug Cut

The HH line is known as Mac Baren's unflavored, pressed-tobacco arm. Old Dark Fired is prepared by combining fire-cured Kentucky burley with hot-air-cured Virginia leaf and steam-pressing them; this process lets the flavors meld and settle through light fermentation. In this Plug Cut version, the tobacco is left as a whole block rather than sliced; the smoker cuts the block to whatever thickness they like.

The weight is carried by the fire-cured Kentucky leaf: it gives an earthy, woody, nutty, smoky taste, with floral and tangy spice notes behind it. The Virginia leaf adds a measured sugary sweetness to this dark body. It's medium to heavy in nicotine and fullness, and burns slowly and coolly.
