Latakia Blend

Latakia Blend is one of Mac Baren's roll-wrapped tobaccos. The manufacturer states that whole Virginia leaves are chosen as the wrapper, with the brand's signature cavendish and latakia placed inside as filling; the resulting roll is later cut. This structure gives a more compact, slower burn than loose-cut blends.

In the smoke, latakia's smoky, woody note is decisive; the Virginia wrapper leaf builds a sweetish, grassy base, and the cavendish adds roundness and a light sweetness. It carries a more measured smokiness than heavy latakia-laden English mixtures, making it suitable also for those wanting to get acquainted with latakia. Due to the roll structure, the slices need to be crumbled before packing.
