Navy Flake

Navy Flake is a Mac Baren classic continuing the rum-flake concept tied to sailors' tradition. Burley forms the base of the blend, joined by sweet Virginias and the brand's own Cavendish; rum and a small amount of honey are applied to the leaf before pressing. The leaves are pressed and cut into golden-colored slices that break up easily.

The tin note carries light rum, honey, and tones reminiscent of plum wine. In the smoke, Burley's body is felt, softened by Virginia's fruity, citrusy sweetness and the rum topping. Nicotine proportion is medium. When airing and packing are handled with care, the burn proceeds without trouble; packed tightly, it gives a slow-burning, cool smoke.
