Navy Plug

Navy Plug is the block-form version of Mac Baren's well-known Navy Flake blend. Select Virginia and Burley leaves are combined with the brand's own Cavendish, pressed, rested for weeks, and then packaged unsliced as a block; the smoker cuts the block to whatever thickness they want. In keeping with sailors' tradition, a rum note is applied on top.

At the front of the taste sits the Burley leaf's earthy, woody, distinctly nutty and oat-like character, joined by a fine molasses trace. The Virginia leaf adds tangy citrus, bread, and dry-hay notes along with dark-fruit sweetness. The rum topping binds these tastes together rather than masking them. Body and nicotine are medium; it burns cool, clean, and slow. Suited to smokers wanting to get to know plug tobaccos or who prefer to decide the cut thickness themselves.
