Solent Mixture

The Solent Mixture is one of Mac Baren's oldest products, dating back to 1950. The blend's founding idea was to build a mixture that let Latakia be felt enough without leaving a heavy odor in the room. So matured Virginia leaves were used as the base, with full-bodied Burley, the maker's own Cavendish, and Cyprian Latakia added on top. Once the mixture was complete, it's finished with dark Jamaican rum and a pinch of vanilla.

The result is a structure sitting between a full English mixture and an aromatic. Latakia's leather and soot stay in the background, while the Cavendish's and rum's sweetness soften the edges of the taste. Nicotine and flavor intensity are medium. Suited to those wanting to warm up to Latakia blends and to smokers seeking a smoky character softened with flavoring support.
