Virginia Flake

Virginia Flake is one of Mac Baren's Virginia-forward classics. The blend's foundation rests on flame-cured leaves selected from three separate continents; a small amount of specially selected Burley is added to set the balance. The mixture is pressed and cut into slices, finished with a fine topping to bring the natural sugar forward.

In the taste, a bright, citrus-leaning top note and a honey-like sweetness lead; the Burley builds a nutty base behind it. Thanks to the flake structure, it burns slow and even, giving a long smoke. The slices need rubbing out, and moisture needs adjusting; rushed, it's prone to running hot. Suited to those wanting to start with Virginia blends and smokers seeking balance in pressed tobaccos.
