40th Anniversary

40th Anniversary is a straight Virginia slice prepared from a special red Virginia batch McClelland set aside for its fortieth founding anniversary. It was released in 2017 in 100-gram tins, and since the firm closed in 2018, it was produced for only about a year and a half.

The blend's body is built on a tangy-sweet, dark-fruited, earthy, and woody red Virginia, joined by a lighter-colored Virginia bringing citrus, faint herbal, and spice tones. Strength runs light to medium, while the taste is intense thanks to the slice-pressing and aging. A record within the territory of those who love unflavored Virginia slices and are used to letting tobacco rest in a jar before smoking.
