Anniversary 1977-2010

McClelland prepared a limited anniversary tobacco for its twenty-fifth founding anniversary in 2002 and repeated the same special production in 2005 and 2010. The 2010 edition is presented in a tin wrapped in heavy paper and sealed on top with brown wax; records indicate a rest of several years is recommended for this tobacco.

Its contents consist of aged Virginia with a measured Latakia share, with no flavoring. The Latakia aroma that spreads on opening the tin leans sweet rather than bitter. The smoke starts mild and grows firmer as the bowl progresses; the final portion of the bowl gains noticeable fullness. It therefore falls within the territory of those used to Latakia blends who aren't bothered by a strong smoke. A tobacco that could be considered for winter, after-coffee, or after-dinner smokes.
