Blending Oriental

Blending Oriental is among the component tobaccos McClelland sold in bulk. Prepared for those wanting to add an Oriental layer to their own recipe when building a mixed blend, it's a ribbon-cut product made of unflavored Oriental leaf.

Smoked on its own, it gives a single-plane flavor; it has a spicy, faintly tangy, dry character. Its real use is as a supporting component in Latakia-forward English and Balkan recipes or in Virginia blends. Since the brand stopped production in 2018, the product is found only in old stock.
