Blending Virginia

Blending Virginia is the unflavored flue-cured Virginia leaf McClelland sold as a component in its bulk line. It's prepared for smokers building their own recipe to add a sweet Virginia base to their blend; it's ribbon cut and carries no flavoring.

Smoked on its own, it gives a sweet, herbal, plain profile from its natural sugar; nicotine level is low to medium. Given Virginia leaf's tendency to mature in long storage, it's considered suitable for aging. McClelland was founded in 1977, known for its Virginia and Oriental blends, and stopped production in 2018.
