Bombay Court

Bombay Court is one of McClelland's Latakia-containing mixtures centered on Oriental tobaccos. In the recipe, sun-cured exotic Oriental leaves lead; Latakia is used at a level where it's noticeable but not dominant.

McClelland's matured red Virginia sets the balance and gives the blend sweetness. It's ribbon cut. The overall profile runs sweet, floral, and lightly smoky, with body kept measured. It falls within the territory of those seeking a milder smoke where Oriental tobacco leads, rather than heavy Latakia-forward English mixtures. A richer version of the blend, with darker Virginias, added Perique, and a higher Latakia share, was produced under the name Bombay Extra.
