Latakia Flake, released within the Blakeney's Best series, is a full-bodied English blend in which generous Cyprian Latakia is combined with Yaka Oriental from Greece's Xanthi region, toasted, then matured pressed into cakes. The flake sliced from the cake gives a slow, cool burn; soot and spice notes stay upfront through the smoke.
Aimed at experienced smokers seeking heavy-Latakia, unflavored, full-bodied blends; being flake, it needs to be rubbed out or folded before packing. The blend was produced from 2005 and withdrawn from the market when McClelland closed in 2018.
