Master Penman

Master Penman is one of McClelland's aromatic blends born within the Greater Kansas City Pipe Club circle. It's named after Mike Sull, a club member and calligrapher who prepared the calligraphy for official White House invitations. The blend's base is the trio of Virginia, Burley, and black Cavendish; over it, pecan, cinnamon, and rum essences are applied in a measured balance.

The smoke is mild and tongue bite is kept low; drawn through the retrohale, a buttery aroma leaning toward rum and light vanilla appears. Body stays light, placing the blend in a range smokable at any hour of the day. Structured for those on the aromatic side who don't want the flavoring to mask the tobacco. Production ended when McClelland closed in 2018.
