No. 2000 Fragrant Matured Cake

No. 2000 Fragrant Matured Cake is a mild, sweet cake blend built from matured Virginias. A light top note evoking nougat is worked over it; this flavoring is kept measured enough not to overtake the tobacco, leaving the blend a dry, cool burn far from the syrupy texture of typical aromatics.

Per the maker's description, the blend speaks to two audiences at once: matured-Virginia smokers who find aromatics too heavy, and those wanting a drier smoke than classic Cavendish aromatics. Owing to its cake structure, it needs to be rubbed out and aired for a while before packing. Discontinued when McClelland closed in 2018.
