No. 2035 Dark Navy Flake is an unflavored Virginia flake in McClelland's bulk series. Per the maker's description, very light lemon Virginias and Eastern Belt leaves are pressed, rested, and lightly stoved into a dark, sharply aromatic cake, which is then sliced as flake. The "navy" in the name nods to traditional sailors' tobaccos, but the blend carries no rum or similar flavoring.

Since stoving deepens Virginia's natural sugar, the taste shifts away from fresh lemon Virginia's tang toward cooked fruit and dark bread. Airing the flakes and rubbing them out, or folding and packing them, suits smokers who favor a slow pace. Nicotine dose is medium. Discontinued when McClelland closed in 2018.
