No. 27

No. 27 is an unflavored Virginia blend in McClelland's "Matured Virginias" series. Records indicate it's an orange-red toned blend, matured as a cake and then prepared in a very fine (shag) cut. It's related to No. 25 in the series; No. 27 sits on a drier, sharper line.

Its taste is dry, clean, and lightly sweet; Virginia's characteristic tangy sharpness makes itself known in the background. Smoked slowly and cool, it doesn't bite the tongue, though the fine cut can turn harsh if smoked quickly. Aimed at smokers seeking an unflavored, unadorned Virginia who want to hear the tobacco's own taste. Discontinued when McClelland closed in 2018.
