No. 5100 Red Cake is one of the best-known Virginias in McClelland's bulk catalog. Per the maker's description, it's prepared as an English-style Virginia cake, rare in America: the matured cake is sold fully rubbed out, so it needs no further preparation. It has been used both as a medium-bodied Virginia smoked on its own and as a base tobacco for building other blends.

Its structure is mild, its taste sweet and matured-Virginia-forward; the brand's characteristic tangy aroma is pronounced here. Since the nicotine dose is moderate, it's also smokable during the day.
