Oriental Mixture No. 12

Oriental Mixture No. 12 is among the higher numbers in McClelland's green-label Oriental series. Per retailer descriptions, it's built by adding a pronounced amount of Turkish tobacco and Latakia over matured Virginia leaves, making it one of the fuller-bodied entries in the series. The cut is ribbon, and it packs and burns without trouble.

In the smoke, Virginia's sweetness comes first, followed by a woody, tangy-citrus layer and a faint note reminiscent of licorice root. The Latakia gives smoke but doesn't cover the blend; throughout the series, the Latakia weight is kept limited. Aimed at smokers seeking Oriental tobacco alongside measured Latakia, avoiding the heavy Latakia end of English blends. Discontinued when the brand closed in 2018.
