Oriental Mixture No. 14

Oriental Mixture No. 14 is among the last numbers in McClelland's green-label Oriental series. The mixture contains toasted Virginia leaves, Oriental tobaccos, and Latakia. The dry leaf's color makes the Latakia share look higher than it is; in the smoke, the Latakia stays in the background and doesn't cover the blend.

The flavor axis rests on a sweet, bready, buttery Virginia character, joined by nutty, earthy, and occasionally floral notes. Body is medium, and the nicotine load isn't jarring. Suited to smokers who know Latakia but don't want its weight, and who seek an Oriental-Virginia balance. The blend was withdrawn from the market when McClelland stopped production in 2018.
