Oriental Mixture No. 8 is from McClelland's green-label Oriental series. Per its description, leaf obtained by fully breaking up a matured red Virginia cake is combined with a generous amount of Oriental tobacco. It's one of the numbers in the series where Latakia stays furthest in the background, running along an Oriental-Virginia axis.
The smoke is mild, lightly sweet, and full-bodied; the Orientals' tangy, herbal character sits atop the Virginia sweetness. Nicotine load is low-to-medium, suitable for all-day smoking. Suited to smokers wanting an Oriental blend with little or no Latakia. The brand stopped production in 2018.
