Syrian Super Balkan is among the fullest-bodied members of McClelland's Syrian-Latakia-based blends. Per the maker's description, dark, cool-smoking Syrian Latakia forms the blend's backbone, joined by Oriental tobaccos, Virginia leaf, and a generous amount of Louisiana Perique. This Perique addition is the key point separating it from its sibling blend in the series.
In the smoke, Perique's dark-fruit, spicy sharpness rides atop the smoky Latakia layer; Virginia sweetness balances the pair. Body is full and the nicotine load is pronounced. Aimed at experienced smokers wanting Latakia and Perique together at a high dose. The brand ceased operations in 2018.
