Virginia Woods

Virginia Woods is one of the blends McClelland classed as semi-aromatic Virginias. At its base is stoved Virginia, a process that lends the blend a woody, smoky edge. A small amount of topping is applied over it, which according to records leaves a resinous aroma reminiscent of a high-altitude pine forest. Production ended when the company closed in 2018.

In the smoke, Virginia's natural, non-sugary sweetness and the brand's familiar tangy Virginia character are preserved; the topping isn't heavy enough to make this a full aromatic. Burns cool when smoked slowly. Suited to those wanting a light-to-medium, all-day blend that sits somewhere between an unflavored Virginia and an aromatic.
