Murdock's Pipe

Murdock's is the third blend in Charlotte's McCranie's Pipe Shop's tinned lineup, coming after Red Ribbon and Red Flake. Its body is built on the shop's red Virginia leaf, joined by a small amount of Latakia and Oriental. At this ratio, the blend sits between a straight Virginia and a conventional English mixture.

The smoke keeps Virginia's bready sweetness up front; rather than building a dominant sooty layer, the Latakia leaves a fine woody line in the background. Nicotine load runs light to medium. A middle step suited to smokers who don't smoke heavy Latakia but find straight Virginia too flat.
