Red Ribbon, vintage 2000

The 2000-stamped release of Red Ribbon is the ribbon-cut batch of McCranie's tobacconist's unflavored red Virginia blend, made from that year's harvest. Since the blend is produced on a single-harvest basis, each stamp carries its own year's leaf; records mention the 1983, 1996, and 2000 releases.

In the younger release, Virginia's herbal, tea-like line and natural sugar sweetness are more pronounced; the creamy depth that stands out in older harvests builds over time. Suited to those accustomed to smoking unflavored single-varietal Virginia and to those wanting to compare different years of the same blend.
