Watson's Glen

Watson's Glen is McCranie's shop's composite Virginia blend. Rather than settling for a single leaf type, it brings together differently prepared Virginias; according to the shop's recipe the mixture includes Rattray's black Virginia, Marlin Flake, dark aromatic Virginias, and the shop's own Red Ribbon red leaf. This structure is a typical example of shop mixtures built by rubbing out and recombining ready-made blends.

The resulting profile is more layered than a straight Virginia: the tangy dried-fruit quality of the red leaf, the dark sugar depth of the black Virginia, and the intense body from the flake all sit together. It carries no casing. An entry geared toward smokers who know Virginia blends and are looking for a mixed Virginia rather than a single leaf type.
