American Patriot

American Patriot is the latakia-containing member of the tobacco line Missouri Meerschaum, known for its corn cob pipes, launched in 2013. Blender Russ Ouellette built the line around the idea of old American-style blends designed to be smoked in a corn cob pipe; the blends' names come from the company's pipe models. This blend has an English-American construction, with a touch of bourbon note accompanying the latakia.

The latakia proportion isn't high enough to count the blend as a heavy English mixture; virginia sweetness and burley's dry body can be picked out over the smoky base, and the bourbon casing is only barely perceptible. Suitable for those newly moving into latakia blends and for those looking for a smoky character in bagged tobaccos.
