Italico Ammezzato is the half-length cheroot product from the Ambasciator Italico series that the Moderno Opificio del Sigaro Italiano (MOSI) company launched in 2014; it has been sold in Turkey under the shortened name Italico Ammezzato. It is machine-rolled at the facility in Orsago, undergoing a single fermentation and six months of aging. The filler is mainly Italian fire-cured Kentucky tobacco grown in Veneto; the wrapper leaf is Tennessee Kentucky. It is about 78 mm long and 14 mm in diameter.
Cocoa, coffee, and hazelnut associations lead in the aroma; the burnt, tangy depth expected from fire curing is kept restrained. Despite its tight roll it burns evenly and slowly, giving a single unbroken ash. In the smoke, a lightly sweet taste runs alongside a moderate Kentucky intensity, with a measured bitterness appearing toward the end; a light nutty trace lingers in the mouth at the finish. It is a directly smoked tobacco product, not a pipe tobacco.
