Stanislaw Balkan Latakia

Balkan Latakia is an unflavored, ribbon-cut latakia mixture offered under the Stanislaw brand by Czech maker Mostex. Records indicate the blend is roughly forty percent latakia and ten percent dark Kentucky; the remainder consists of select virginia and oriental tobaccos along with a very small amount of Louisiana perique.

The high latakia proportion gives the blend a smoky, full body; Kentucky raises the nicotine load, while perique adds a spicy sharpness at the finish. Aimed at those accustomed to heavy Balkan mixtures who are looking for an intense, unsauced smoke.
