Puhwapwap

Puhwapwap is a burley twist belonging to the Motzek workshop's rested line, called "aged." In its production, strong burley leaves are held for three to five years, then macerated for about six months in a plant-and-spice liquid based on an old recipe, wound into a twist, and rested for another six months. Rose petals are also placed inside the vacuum pack; these can be loaded into the bowl along with the tobacco.

In the dry scent, floral and soapy associations stand out more than tobacco. The smoke has a medium-to-full body with an herbal-spicy sharpness reminiscent of perique, and the nicotine load sits at the upper end of the line. It is a specialty product meant for occasional rather than everyday smoking; suitable for smokers open to the twist format and unusual herbal-floral profiles.
