509 Blend (Manhattan Twilight)

509 Blend is Nat Sherman's dark aromatic, also known by the name Manhattan Twilight. Records indicate it was produced in the US by Lane Limited, sold only at the company's New York store starting in 2007, and reissued in tin form in 2014. It has a jet-black appearance, built mainly around heavily sauced black cavendish, with vanilla and maple syrup standing out in the casing.

The smoke is thick and cool, with dense smoke output; the taste shows vanilla, nougat, and toasted nuts, while the sense of nicotine stays low. Because of its pronounced casing and strong room note, it is a blend set aside for evening smoking, geared toward smokers who like dark aromatics. It is out of production since the brand's tobacco operations ended.
