Bowling Green

Bowling Green is the straight Virginia entry in the series of blends the New York Pipe Club has had prepared exclusively for its members. The club bases its blends on classic tobacco recipes free of casing and embellishment; this tobacco too is built entirely from Virginia leaf and presented as a pressed cake. Pressing lets the flavors of the different Virginia grades meld together inside the tin.

The tin note shows fruity notes of plum, apricot, and peach; in the smoke it leaves a taste that swings between sweet and tangy sharpness, reminiscent of dried apricot. A fitting recipe for smokers who enjoy drawing out unflavored Virginia character through a slow smoke and who are accustomed to cake tobaccos. It takes its name from the Bowling Green neighborhood at the southern tip of Manhattan.
