Meretrix et Virgo

Meretrix et Virgo is a blend Niall of Nine built in Scottish style, taking Dunhill Aperitif as its starting point. It consists of red Virginias' bright tartness, Turkish-oriental leaf's herbal and spicy sharpness, measured Cyprian latakia, and a share of black cavendish that rounds the blend off.

True to the Scottish blending tradition, latakia isn't in the lead role here but plays a seasoning part: the smoke stays a thin line behind Virginia's sweetness, while cavendish builds a molasses-like undertone. It's a balanced, medium-strength record smokable all day; it suits smokers who find heavy Balkan mixtures too much, yet find straight Virginia too plain. Production runs in small batches.
