Fox Hound

Fox Hound is a member of the tobacco line carrying the name of the Hunting pipe series Danish pipemaker Erik Nørding has continued since 1995. The blend's name comes from hunting dog breeds. It's built from cube-cut burley, matured red and bright Virginia, cavendish, and St. James perique, with a small amount of Turkish latakia added. The line's first editions were produced by McClelland; after 2018 the line was reorganized under Cornell & Diehl.

Here latakia isn't a standalone component but is used like a spice that thickens the body and cools the smoke. Cube-cut burley burns slowly and evenly, while perique leaves a fruity spice trace in the background. It suits smokers seeking an American-style blend where latakia stays measured.
