Labrador (Hunting 2025)

Labrador is the Virginia/Perique wing of the Hunting (Hunter Blends) series inspired by Erik Nørding's hunting dogs. This new interpretation of the line was blended by American manufacturer Cornell & Diehl; the brand itself is Danish in origin. It contains flame-cured red and light-yellow Virginia leaves alongside genuine St. James Parish perique and a small amount of black cavendish. Per the maker, the perique proportion is around eight percent, placing the blend in the middle of classic VaPer measures.

On the smoke, Virginia's natural sugar and tart sharpness lead; perique layers a dark fig-and-plum fruitiness and a light spice over it. Being ribbon cut, it packs easily and burns evenly. In nicotine terms it sits in the medium range. It suits smokers already familiar with unflavored Virginia blends who are newly moving into the VaPer type, and those wanting a tobacco that doesn't weigh them down through the day yet isn't plain.
