Golden Sliced

Golden Sliced is Orlik's best-known product and counted among the most widely smoked Virginia-based flake blends in the world. A small amount of perique is added to pressed, thinly sliced golden Virginia leaf; no flavoring is applied. The slices go into the tin partly rubbed (broken flake), and a ribbon-cut version also exists.

Its taste is sweet, its texture clean, and its strength light to medium. Virginia's natural sweetness comes forward in the first half of the smoke, and the leaf's own fullness in the second half; smoked at a slow pace, the taste quality is preserved without degrading. It's a widely recommended blend for those wanting to enter the world of unflavored Virginia, and smokers learning to pack flake.
