Dark Strong Kentucky

Dark Strong Kentucky, known by its abbreviation DSK, is an Orlik blend. Fire-cured Kentucky is added to matured Virginia leaves, and the mixture is pressed and sliced into flake, establishing a pronounced contrast between the light and dark leaves' tastes. A light top dressing recalling maple syrup or brown sugar is noted as applied before pressing, though the blend isn't placed in the aromatic class as a result.

The taste combines traces of licorice root and molasses, a smoky backbone from the Kentucky, and Virginia's natural sweetness. Strength is medium to full. It was reintroduced to the market after a long period out of distribution. It suits experienced smokers seeking fire-cured leaf's strength and smoky character.
