Golden Sliced (Red Tin)

Golden Sliced is Orlik's navy-cut flake known for its red tin. It's made by pressing fire-cured Virginia leaves and cutting them into thin slices; a small amount of perique is added. The slices range in color between copper-red and oak brown. It's counted among the best-known examples of the Virginia-perique type.

Before lighting it gives off a natural sweet scent recalling tea and citrus; on the smoke, herbal, sweet Virginia taste leads, accompanied by a raisin-like depth and a spicy touch from the perique. It's unflavored and rewards aging. It's described as a starting point for those wanting to get to know the Virginia-perique type.
