Mrs Nielsen is a My Own Blend special edition put together around 2015 in memory of Inge-Lise Nielsen, wife of The Danish Pipe Shop's founder Steffen Nielsen. It contains matured dark Virginia, light Virginia, and cavendish, topped with almond, vanilla, and a generous amount of chocolate essence. The mixture is hand-pressed and left under pressure for a week, then rubbed out and packed.
The pressing lets the essence work into the leaf; the smoke is darkly sweet and creamy, with nicotine load staying low. It suits smokers seeking a pronounced chocolate-vanilla character who enjoy intense aromatics. Like the line's other special editions, it's offered in limited numbers through the shop.
